The child is the author

Turn what they imagine into a book they can hold.

Boundless Author is a private studio where your child writes their own story, adds the pictures, and receives it as a hardcover keepsake with their name on the cover.

How it works

Four steps from a blank page to a book on the shelf

Nothing here is graded or timed, so the writing can take as long as it takes.

  1. 01

    Write it, scene by scene

Your child builds their story one scene at a time, in their own words. Help is there when they ask for an idea, and nothing goes into the story unless they choose it.

  2. 02

    Add the pictures

Any scene can have an illustration that grows out of their own words and descriptions. They look at the choices and pick the one that fits their story.

  3. 03

    Publish the book

When the story feels finished, they publish it and become an author, before anyone pays anything. The book is laid out with a title page and their name as the author.

  4. 04

    The hardcover arrives

We print it as a hardcover and ship it to your home, a real book to hold, give to family, and keep on the shelf.

For parents

One book, one flat price.

Writing is free, and you only pay when you want the printed book. Shipping is included, and there is no subscription to keep your child's book.

A private studio

One family account, and you hold the keys. There are no ads, no public feed, and no messaging with strangers, so your child writes in a calm space of their own.

A librarian, not a ghostwriter

Your child writes every word. When they get stuck they can ask for an idea, and nothing enters the story unless they choose it and place it themselves. Illustrations are created with AI from your child's own descriptions.

Made to be shelved

A hardcover printed in full color on coated paper, 8.5 × 8.5 inches, with a title page and their name as the author.

Worth keeping

A book your child wrote can sit on the shelf, go to the grandparents, and come back down for a re-read whenever they like.

Founding Families

The first one hundred books are being written now

There are no reviews on this page yet, because there are no finished books yet. When the first families are holding their hardcovers, their words will appear here as they wrote them, with their permission. Until then, the promises below are ours.
